UFQ #3: French Roses

Wow, talk about accountability…this is only my third post of UFQs and I’m already embarrassed by my out-of-sight, out-of-mind mentality. And why do I need to buy any more fabric or patterns?!?

PROJECT NAME: French Roses Baby Quilt
DATE STARTED: 2005

ORIGINAL PURPOSE: A baby gift for my friend Mari’s baby, who is now in preschool and far too sophisticated for a baby blankie!

CURRENT STATE: Here it is, many of the blocks were finished at a retreat in Fall/Winter 2005…I’m not sure they have been touched since.
REASON FOR NOT FINISHING IT: Who knows? Obviously, I do have a problem with out-of-sight, out-of-mind things. Perhaps I need to start storing everything in transparent containers!?!

PLAN FOR FINISHING IT: While everyone I know keeps having baby boys, I should get this finished up and keep it on hand for a girly gift when the time comes. It is very soft and pretty, and I have no reason NOT to finish it! I’ll shoot for the end of 2008.

More to come…

  1. What a good idea, UFO Accountability. I like the way that you’re up front about the whats and whys – PLUS you put a positive spin by deciding what needs to be done next. I think that will be a <>huge<> help in actually getting things done!Hmmm… I might use this idea myself, in the privacy of my own sewing room. 🙂

Let me know what you have to say on the subject....
