For a long time I’ve wanted to make a black and white quilt. I never knew exactly what I wanted, until I saw this Michael Miller fabric of buttons, zippers, and dress forms…I was instantly drawn in!I bought all the fabric for the top, backing and binding, to make this kaliedoscope quilt:
I’m putting a wider border on it (of the dress form fabric)…because I rarely do anything completely according to the pattern. I’m toying with the idea of adding just a teensy bit of red (or hot pink) to the quilt, such as in one of the kaliedoscopes, or in a small inner border. Any ideas?
I mean…how can you not love this fabric?!?Maybe I’ll have some progress shots to show you in the coming weeks. One can only hope. And try really hard.
Hi Doris! I’ve been lurking your blog for a few weeks- I think I found you on the Quilting Bloggers site. >>I just wanted to de-lurk today and tell you how much I love these black and white fabrics, and how excited I am to see what you create with them. I’m sure it will be fantastic!
I saw these online the other day and ALMOST ordered them. Now, that is restraint. I’ll be waiting to see what they become. LOVE them.
hi Doris, I’m in the black and white challenge too, at least I will be when Christmas is over. I LOVE THAT DRESS FORMS FABRIC!!!! I have complete fabric envy!!!
