The Sewing Circle

Call it a sewing circle, call it a quilting bee, call it a retreat… No matter how you name it, it all adds up to great friends, good food, inspiration and motivation!  This weekend at Gruber’s was a much needed shot-in-the-arm of quilt-world immersion and a serious dose of sewing motivation!

Toni of All Tangled Up in My Underwear
Amanda of Crazy Mom Quilts
Rene of Rene’s Creates
Shelly S. of Shelly’s Quilts
Mary of Mary on Lake Pulaski
Victoria of Bumble Beans Inc., our instigator and organizer
                   (THANK YOU, V!!!)
Terri of Terri’s Notebook
Shelly P. of Prairie Moon Quilts
Andrea of The Little Collection (Sadly, not pictured above)
Heather of Anka’s Treasures (Also not in the picture above)

We laughed, we laughed until we cried, we ate, we slept (a little, anyway), we pieced, we quilted, we ate some more…

We visited the Minnesota Quilt Show, we shopped (there may or may not have been some fabric acquisitions made…)

Many of us visited this fabulous shop more then once (after all, it was just a short walk across a parking lot from our retreat center)…the sign at the entrance sums it up:

and of course, we got serious about getting some stuff done…

Everyone of these ladies are oozing with talent and generosity, and I consider it a privilege and a blessing to call them friends.

Can we do this again?  Soon?!?

  5. How wonderful for everyone! It sounds like a one-of-a-kind weekend, and with Gruber's across the street? Well. Paradise. Thanks for introducing me to your friends, Doris. I visited Shelly's blog, ended up registering for her giveaway, and… I won! That's the next best thing to being able to go on a retreat with all of you.
